WoW!!

What a crazy busy month!!

 

I have had a lot of emotions this last month, I feel like I have to take in every last moment and cherish every memory. Because this will be our last real Christmas @ "home". So we have been busy spending lots of time with family and friends and carrying on our traditions... I hope to carry a few of the traditions on as we move and will most likely start a few new ones... It's totally a bitter/sweet feeling.

 

The 1st weekend in December (12/6) Jacki and I along with Maddi and Kami's help. Started our candy making it was a long day but we got a lot done. I think this is our best year yet!! Jacki is definitely the master! :)

 

The next weekend (12/12) I flew to Vegas to spend a lil time with James and go to his company Christmas party. It was a fast trip but much needed!! We stay in Vegas @ the Hard Rock hotel and it was the BOMB.COM!! We will for sure go back, the beds were to die for!! Me going on this lil adventure was full of a lot of 1st times for me. This was the 1st time I have ever planned & flown all by myself and I was super nervous but I did it!! It was a huge mile stone for me and I was full of lots of anxiety!! But I'm a PRO now!! LoL

 

I only stayed 2 nights with James and flew back in Saturday (12/14) morning and joined Jerian and my kids for a fun filled weekend in SLC. Saturday afternoon we went to the Symphony for our 1st time and is was AMAZING!! Then we shopped down town and enjoyed the lights Saturday night. Then Sunday morning we went to the Christmas concert and the Spoken Word @ the Conference Center and it was AMAZING!! The spirit was so strong and when President Monson walked in there was dead silence it was AMAZING!! I LOVED every minute of that weekend!! I will always cherish those memories of going to SLC with the Merritt's, it's one of my most favorite traditions. :)

 

Then on Friday the 20th my hubby came home!! YaY!! We had an awesome Christmas and LOVED having him home!! We did all of or usual traditions of going to my parents and doing the nativity for Christmas Eve and then a nice Christmas dinner on Christmas day. We were super lazy and just enjoyed being together and having our daddy home!!

 

The day after (12/26) we went bowling and to dinner with all our peeps... Chris & Stacie and thier kids were here so it was nice to see them. We had an AMAZING time as usual!! I love all our friends and will miss them so much! I am grateful for all our fun times and memories! Then on Saturday (12/28) we took the kids to FROZEN and is was a darling movie!!

 

Sunday (12/29) We went with my parents and family and did the sacrament meeting @ Our House in Tremonton it was a fun lil experience and something I LOVE! I have special love for older people and love their sweet spirits. It was a great opportunity and the spirit was strong. I'm grateful for my parents and their example.

 

This morning we said our good byes to our daddy and he headed back to Kingman... Bitter/Sweet

 

Now we are ready to ROCK in the NEW YEAR!! I'm not sure what our plans are but we are for sure ready for 2014!! We have had lots of good memories and things happen and many, many blessing and prayers answered in 2013. It has been a wonderful year for our lil family!!

 

As the year comes to an end I am kind of sad knowing this year was our last full year here in UTAH!! We are more than ready to join our daddy in Kingman and look forward to meeting new people and having a fresh start! :)

Totally Bummed!

So awhile ago my work said they were gonna put a block on all of our computers so we couldn't access social networking sites. But it never happened and never happened..... But a few weeks ago, it happened! I am so bummed! Our home computer is broke so I had totally been taking advantage of updating my blog @ work.... Not no more! So that leaves me to update with the iPad. Glad I can update it but bummed cause its way more time consuming. 

Any how I'm new to the iPad as well so for now no pictures just journaling....


Over the weekend of Nov. 15th the kids and I went to Roosevelt with my dad and mom and Caleb and Julie's family to help Connor and Sunni build their house. It was FREEZING! But we got lots done and Kobe was in "hog heaven" he loved helping Connor and his hired hand with the lil piggies.... And for me the best part was being with my family and seeing Clancy and baby Olive. They are so cute and getting so BIG!

As I posted before James is in AZ. His new job is going good and he seems to be liking it. As for me I am missing him like crazy! He was always such a huge help around the house and running the kids. I am really missing him and it makes me appreciate him more each day! I don't handle stress well so my kids think I am a lil ornery.... But we are making it! It's rough being a "single mom" LoL

November 22nd James tuned the BIG 4-0!! Woot woo! He is an old man :) I was pretty sad we couldn't celebrate with him, but the AZ. friends took him to dinner.... Thank You!

Then on Tuesday the 26th the kids and I rented a car and took a lil road trip to see our daddy and be with him for Thanksgiving! Kobe wanted us to have Thanksgiving with just us 4, so we did something we have never done before and went to a buffet in Laughlin, NV for turkey dinner. It was way different but the food was great! And that place was packed so we weren't the only crazies! Then after dinner we joined up with the Schrade's and Rowley's to go see Catching Fire, it was a lil intense for me but the kids LOVED it! It was a nice day with our lil family....

We drove home today... Sunday Dec. 1st and made it home safe! This week we will be putting up Christmas :) 

Back to the "thankful" side of things.... I just wanted to say that I am so grateful for my lil family and I am truly grateful for the many things we have been blessed with over this last year. My heart is full! So many prayers have been answered and we have been BLESSED! Love to all my friends and family...

I hope that as we go thru out this holiday season that we remember the true reason for the season.

Kobe just wore a mask and Mads didn't dress up, but I didn't even think to take their pic...  My mom carried on Gm. Kent's tradition and had homemade chili and sugar cookies, it was delicious!! :) We had a fun night and went to a few houses around Fielding with our cousins. We ended the night by going to Plymouth to a haunted house that Clint and Kati were doing with Clint's family. It was pretty dang good, Kobe loved it!!

I am a little late getting these posted, but back in September Jacki took our family pics and I think she should go pro. She did an awesome job!! These are just a few of my favorites but they all turned out great!! I can't believe how big and grown up my kids are getting, kinda makes me sad!

Here's to a new adventure...

This morning we started our new adventure.... James starts his new job MONDAY!! He left early this a.m. so he will have plenty of time to get settled before his big day!!

 

My poor little Kobe cried so hard, he is sure gonna miss his dad these next few months. James had showed him how to help me start the lawn mower, told him what night to take down the garbage and gave him a few more instructions. I think Kobe was feeling like he is gonna be our lil MAN while his daddy is gone...

 

Mads was pretty sad too, she is pretty tender hearted!! But over all she handled it pretty well...

 

I cried here and there but tried to stay strong for my kiddos... This is gonna be hard for all of us, we are a pretty tight knit lil family. But we can do hard things!!

The Last Supper....

Last night Jerian planned a little going away party for James. We went to the bowling alley here in Tree-town and had us a pretty good meal and then bowled BOYS against GIRLS!! And you will never guess who won...... That's right us GIRLS!! We kicked a$$!

OMG!!

So last night we went to James' parents house to put some stabilizer in the 110. Well I have NEVER driven a motor bike and have been wanting to try it all summer but always had shorts on or I'd get too scared. Well last night I thought I better give it a lil test ride and it was totally AWESOME!! It was way easier than I thought and I have never laughed so hard in my life!! I was having a BLAST!! I shouldn't of waited til now to try it, I rode it around last night more than Kobe. :)

 

 

Next step.... the HARLEY!! :) LoL

Conference Weekend.....

James was scheduled to work Conference wknd... But because we will be moving we decided he should take the weekend off so we could ENJOY one last camping trip with all our peeps... We went up Logan Canyon to the Sinks and it was BEAUTIFUL!! It was a little cold, but we had us a good ole "KC fire" to keep us warm...

 

We went on an awesome hike, ate lots of good food, listened to conference... The boys got to shoot guns, do a little hunting and the best part was just being with our friends!

 

Maddi wasn't to thrilled about coming with us, so she brought Kami along to make hanging with us a little more bearable... I think they had fun, they played lots of PHASE 10 :)

And here is my most handsome lil man!! He LOVES being outside, LOVES hanging out with SHAY and LOVES BUCKET!! So I think he had an AWESOME weekend!! ;)

It was a perfect weekend!! :) We have had so much fun going camping over the years and we will for sure miss our camping trips... But I am grateful for the memories we have made and I am especially grateful for all the friendships.

 

 

CrAzY BuT ExCiTiNg BuSinEsS!!

So as I posted below we just signed the papers to buy our little house in Garland.... So for most of you, you will think this is the MOST CRAZY business EVER!!

As many of you know we had been wanting to move to ARIZONA a few years ago but the job just never came through... While we were doing the paper work for our loan we were having a hard time getting things to go through so James applied for the job in AZ again and GUESS WHAT??? He got the job!! :) :)

 

They offered him the job and gave us a few days to think about it, so after talking it over with our lil family and saying LOTS of prayers... We decided to take the job!! :) I know it sounds so crazy to buy a house 1 week and the next week take a job out of state... But I/we have never felt so good about things and it just feels so right!!

 

So of course we have mixed emotions... We are super excited for the new adventure, but sad to leave all we have ever known and we will miss our family & friends. But over all we feel BLESSED!!

 

This week as James is finishing his 2 weeks @ Malt-O-Meal they had a big meeting yesterday and are changing things there... They are going to be doing a layoff, not matching their 401K any more, and taking away their yearly bonus.... So again we feel BLESSED!! and feel like this job opportunity came at a perfect time!! I have always said everything happens for a reason.....

 

So James will be heading to AZ on the 25th and will start his new job with Nucor in Kingman, AZ on Monday the 28th. The kids and I are gonna stay here and finish up the school year.

 

Here's to a fresh start and a NEW adventure!!

B.R. FOOTBALL

 

So another year has come and gone.... This year the football season seemed so short!! And I am finally starting to understand the game a little better so I was kind of sad to see it end! Not to mention my boy did AWESOME!!

Feeling Blessed....

**WARNING**

 

This is like a journal for me and what you are about to read is kind of personal, but it's my life and my blog so if you don't wanna read... That's fine!!

 

 

I just wanted to say that lately I have been feeling super blessed! We may not have the best of the best but I have been learning to LOVE the simple things of life. And after all these years I am slowly learning that those are the things that truly matter...

 

I sure love my little family and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be a wife and a mother. I love that my kids are growing and learning... They are what make my life complete!!

 

After much thought and lots of prayers we decide to buy the little house we have been renting. I don't know if I have blogged this before but I have said it several times... I love this little house and it's so cute inside but I don't love that the kitchen is so small and I also think that the location just down right SUCKS!! But we do love our ward and it has been so good for us, especially me.

 

Any how on Wednesday we signed the papers and the lady @ the title company said something that I absolutely LOVE!!! I mean LOVE!!

 

James had to go potty... So the lady was just chatting with me while we were waiting for him. She asked me if this was the 1st home we had owned and I said no and blah, blah, blah then she asked if I was excited and I said I don't know... And she said YOU DON'T KNOW?? And I said well it's definitely not my 1st pick and the location SUCKS! But we are looking @ it as more as an investment, so it will be ok... Then we just chatted as we signed the paper work and after a bit....

 

She said that her dad had built her house years ago and she just has never wanted to leave it cause of the memory of her dad and then she said.... I think a lot of times it's not where or what we live in as to how we live inside!!!

 

I don't know why but I just can't get that out of my mind... Isn't it so true though?? We can look like we have all the riches, fancy cars, house and the best of everything but that doesn't mean that everything that goes on "inside" is the BEST!! And even though this little house isn't 100% what I want I can still make it cute and love my kids and family inside!! And that my friends is what truly matters!!

 

I have really struggled with what people think or what they hear or think they know about me and my little family... And I/we have also had some pretty big trails and at times it has brought me to an all time low and I would just sit and wonder why?? To this day I don't know why some of those things have happened but I am slowly learning that some of things happened to help James and I both know that it isn't about the money and we both have been humbled. And without those trials I wouldn't be at the job I'm at today, which is a job I LOVE and am so blessed to have!!

 

I guess I must be kind of getting old cause lately I just CRY!! I cry over everything... I like to blame it on getting older but I really think its cause I am finally understanding the purpose of life and over all I just feel BLESSED!!

 

I am a huge fan of Facebook classifieds and I have been on a hunt for a cute kitchen table that would fit in our little kitchen... Well yesterday I finally found it!! It was from a lady in Brigham so I took a little break from work and went to see if it was really what I wanted and was in good condition... Well when I got there it was PERFECT!! So I said to the lady that I hadn't brought any cash cause in the picture it looked like it had a big scratch and I wanted to see it 1st and I also drove my car so I wasn't sure how'd I'd get it home... She said the legs would come off and I could get it in my car. I was so HAPPY!! I said I'd help her get them off and she said she would just take the legs off if I wanted to go get the money. So I hurried and ran to the ATM and on my way back to get the table I just started bawling like I was a FREAK!! I was crying over a stupid table... I just felt so blessed that I just got the loan the day before for a stupid little house that I don't love and now I am crying over a damn table!! REALLY!!! OMH I think I am crazy!! And so do my kids.... LoL

 

But really I felt blessed!! I know that sounds dumb but I truly felt like I was blessed. It was a perfect table and didn't cost a lot and I had been searching. And I just got thinking about our little house and how it's not perfect but it has everything we need and it just made me realize I don't have to spend tons of money to have nice things!! or above all to be HAPPY!! I guess I might of been a little more impressed (with the table) than anything!! :)

 

Any how another reason I have been feeling blessed... Well I have been going to Crossfit and some how I have hurt my knees. It's really cause I suck and have bad form when I squat, but hey this chubby girl is doing her best!! Well my best wasn't good enough and now I can hardly sit and stand and it kills me to get down on my hands and knees...  Well I have been putting on oils and going to the doctor and nothing is really helping, so the other day I had mentioned it to Kobe cause I wanted him to bend down for me and he asked why and I said cause my knees are killing me. Well he looked @ me and said well have  you said your prayers? I said, said my prayers? and he said ya and patted his knees and said for help?? How sweet!! What a great kid I have and guess what??? He really is listening to me when I don't think he is or when I think he is just saying ok, ok mom!! He knows that when we have trials, pain or just need comfort we can ask our Heavenly Father for help... That totally made my day!!

Well my friends those are just a few things as to why I feel BLESSED!!

1st day of school

Today was kinda bitter sweet...

 I LOVE summer nights and having my kids home. We didn't really do anything to super fantastic this summer but it was just nice hanging together as a family. And most of all being care free!! I was kinda sad to see them go to school, they are both growing up WAY to fast!!

 

 

Maddi started 8th grade this year and she was super excited!! She said she had a little anxiety and didn't know if she would be able to sleep cause she was so excited!! She loves school and loves being around her friends!! I can't believe in just 3 short years she will be driving... I am really starting to feel old and I am super sad my kids are growing up so fast!!

 

I LOVE YOU SIS! :)

 

 

Now for my tiny man... That isn't so tiny any more!! :'(

Kobe is starting 6th grade this year and was a little nervous. He was a little worried about how the day would map out and about being able to get his locker opened! And I am a little worried that he will lose his cool if things don't go as planned in his little mind... He is just like his mom and likes things to run 100% perfect all the time! I am hoping he has a good day... I sure love this little guy! He is growing up to be a pretty good kid, and is very protective of the ones he loves!! 

 

I have to admit the only thing I like about school is being more on a set schedule...

Sunny St. George...

This last weekend I got to go with my mom and sisters for an all girls weekend! We went to St. George and stayed at my bosses house and I had the BEST time!

 Jacki was the planner and she did an AMAZING job!! We had so much fun, it was so nice and relaxing!! and it was also SUPER HOT!! My mom's van said that it was 107* WoW!! We got massages, pedicures, did a little shopping and then went to Thoroughly Modern Millie @ the Tuacahn and we also ate lots of good food!! :)

 

This was the 1st time we have ever gone any where with out a kid or two, so it was super nice to just relax!! I love my mom and sisters (Jenni & Julie too) so much!!

 

 

 

 

While we were gone it was Wheat & Beat days in Garland and I must say our hubby's impressed us!! They all got together for the parade @ our house Saturday morning and then took the kids to the park and they also planned a BBQ for that night... with salads and ALL!!  And then everyone stayed and watched the fire works... We were way impressed!!

Yep Campin!! :)

Last weekend over the 4th we went to the Merritt Family Reunion. It was up North Canyon just past Camp Bartlett, it was super FUN!!!

 

James and the kids got to paint ball for the 1st time and LOVED it!! I just sat and watched and read my magazines....getting shot @ isn't my cup of tea. :)

 

We also floated the Oneida Narrows, which was super fun!! Well @ least for me it was fun, but not so much for the rest of my lil family... The 1st time down Mads was being brave and untied her self from me and she got thrown off her tube and thought she was gonna die!! :) Then the 2nd time down James and Kobe's raft popped so James got out and Kobe hooked up with me on a tube and then we hooked on to Jody and Hailey and got stuck on a rock and Kobe got thrown off and thought he was gonna die!! :) LOL It was a lil rough, but we made the best of it!!

 

I just have to brag up Kody a bit... On Saturday we had a big potluck with everyone and he made the BEST damn dutch over potatoes I have even had. They were EXCELLENT!!

 

 

 

I almost forgot.... Maddi had her 1st real accident her, Hayden and Hayden's friend rolled Kody's 4-wheeler. They all had helmets on and weren't hurt too bad, but I think it scared the shiz out of Mads. She was pretty brave, she got a pretty big cut on her leg and lots of bumps and bruises...

 

As usual we had lots of good food and made lots of good memories with the ones we LOVE!! :)

So awhile back James' dad said he had an old trail 110 and if James and Kobe could get it running Kobe could ride it... Well it's nothing fancy but it RUNS!! And my boy couldn't be happier... James and Kobe got it running last week and James text me and said you'd think he just won the lottery he was so excited!! It was super cute!! That night we went to gp. Kennard's and he showed me how he could drive it!! I must say I was a little nervous, I didn't think my baby boy could hold it up, but he did AWESOME!! :)

 

 

 

 

 

While Kobe was learning to ride his "hog" my girl was off having fun with Connor and Sunni. Connor and Sunni recently moved to Roosevelt, UT and Mads got to go stay a week with them and live the "farming" life.... She thought it was awesome and the best part was helping take care of this lil angel and her big brother. :)

Other than that we haven't been up to much... We've went on a few camping trips and also had the annual Rick Kent Family Reunion over the wknd of June 21st. It was up @ my dads property and we all had a pretty good time!! I forgot my camera, so sorry no pics...

 

 

And just in case you didn't know.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE SUMMER!! :) Even though its been 103* and hotter than HELL I'll take the heat over cold any day!!

Graduated 5th grade, my tiny son... He isn't so tiny any more! :'( 

 

5th grade has been a little rough for P, but he finally made it and did an excellent job!! I am so proud of him and the young man he is becoming. He has made a lot of accomplishments lately and I am so proud of him!! He is a little turkey but he sure makes life FUN!! He doesn't really like to "smug" his mom any more, which makes me kinda sad...  My baby boy is getting all grown up!!

Then he also WON 1st place in his class on his Science Fair project, he was so EXCITED!! I am so proud of him!! :)

I didn't really like how the above pic looked, he tries so hard when it comes to pics so I told him to relax and put his face down... And this is what I got!!

I thought it was a cute pic, it just shows his true personality and just how full of it he is...

I love you son and am so proud of you, keep up the good work!!

Over the last month we have been pretty busy @ our house with dance, scouts and last minute school projects!! And I am so ready for SUMMER!!

 

In case you guys don't know I absolutely LOVE SUMMER and I LOVE the nice warm weather we have been having (minus the last week of rain)...

 

Anyhow on with my kiddos and what they have been up too...

Kobe did the 5th grade Science Fair and his project was to see if there was a chemical reaction when you mixed Red Bull with Milk... Sure enough there was and it caused the milk to curdle, it was pretty awesome!! And he was one proud BOY!!! :)

 

 

 

 

5/21/2013

Was pack meeting and my boy earned his Webelos badge and his Arrow of Light. He was so excited!! He said... I finally graduated!! :) LoL I am so proud of him, he is a good hard worker and likes to stay active. Good job P!!

 

 

 

Then on a little side note, the other night there was a meeting for a football fundraiser and I had told Kobe it was really important that we go. James and I had left to get Mads from dance and her dance went over so we were running late. We tried to call him (no answer) so we rushed home and he had rode his bike to the park and made it to the meeting all on his own. I was super proud of my boy!! Sometimes he gets side tracked so this made me proud , mostly cause he listened!! Usually I don't think he hears a word I say!! :) LoL

 

 Now for Miss Maddi, I guess she earned this award in March but didn't get to bring it home until this last week... She was nominated for Builder of the Month @ Alice C. Harris and I must say I am pretty proud of my girl, good job Sister!!

On the back of the award this is what it says....

I'm proud to nominate Madison as builder this month. Madison takes the time to do her very best on whatever task may come her way, and she completes her work on time. She has a positive attitude and never complains about what she is asked to do. She brightens the room with her smile. She is willing to help those around her. Madison deserves this honor as one of our school's builders because she is a great student and a fantastic friend to those around her.

 

She was nominated by Mrs. Wilcox, her Core teacher.

 Good job Mads, I am so proud of you. Thanks for being such a good example and such a hard worker. I think she has a little anxiety like her mama and gets her stuff done!! She is always of top of it!!

Was Maddi's dance Revue and she did AMAZING!! I am so proud of her, she loves dance and has improved so much over the last year and has her splits down. Good Job Mads!! :)

All I can say is there has been lots of sad and crazy things going on in the world. I am so grateful to have my little family healthy and be living a simple life. I am so proud of my kids and their accomplishments!!

 

We are ready for SUMMER, swimming, camping, SUNSHINE, late nights and just relaxing.... Bring it on!! :)
