I can't believe my baby boy is 8 years old!! He is such a little character, and always brings a smile to my face:) We sure do love him & hope he has a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Maddi's 4th grade program....

Last Thursday I enjoyed a little lunch date with Kalli, Joey and Jenny. Then we (minus Joey) headed to the school to watch our girls in the 4th grade program. I think Mrs. Stewart does an AMAZING job!! She always has the funnest songs for the kids to learn, and Maddi absolutely loves music!! She is a good little recorder player, and did a GREAT job!!

Just a few things I wanted to make note of....

Well I forgot my camera, but last week Walt and Lynsi came to visit. Walt has been going to pilot school so they have been super busy. We had dinner @ my mom's and it was fun to catch up with them. They have never really lived super close, so I always look forward to spending time w/ all my Falk cousins:) I also look forward to the day Walt is the captain of the plane I'm in....

Last Friday Maddi, Kami and I went to watch my girl....Syd shake her booty @ her dance revue (or is it review??) She was the best little dancer!! and I sure do love her to pieces!!

Then last night we got together for F.H.E w/ the Kent family and to celebrate May birthday's which include... Gp. Udy, Trevyn, ME, Syd, and Kobers:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!!

James and my brothers are busy getting the cemetery done for Memorial Day and the kids are counting down the days of school and I'm hoping for a nice SUNNY day!!

WARNING this might be T.M.I for some so you might wanna skip this post! But I think it's pretty funny and I want to be able to read this to Kobe's kids in 20 years. :)

Oh my HELL!! I can't believe the things my son comes up with, he makes me laugh so hard!! Jerian always asks Kobe if he wants to play football like "T" (Triston) he has always said he does. Well this year he is finally old enough, so a few weeks ago I saw the ad in the paper and as we were coming home from my parents I asked him if he was ready?? He said he didn't know if he wanted to play, I said sure you do you will be AWESOME!! And I told him it would be like Carson and that even Gp. Rick played football and went to Snow Collage to play. But I said it costs a lot of money so I only wanna sign you up if you are serious, James tells him he has to be TOUGH!! So he starts thinkin about it and says he for sure wants to:) So I was thinkin the day before the dead line I'd sign him up just in case he changes his mind.....and sure enough he did!!

He comes in last week after playing and as we were eating dinner he says he for sure doesn't wanna play and I said why not?? He says cause I have to get my _ _ _ _ squished!! I was like WHAT? He said you have to get a physical and that's what they do!! James and I were laughing, we have never mentioned anything like this to him, but I think a few of his friends filled him in:) LOL!! So football is off @ this point.....Until today! He just came in and says MOM I REALLY DO WANNA PLAY FOOTBALL!!! He was all smiley and saying it loud as could be, I said you do? He says YEAH!! Cause I know how to make myself cough when they touch my jiggly's:) He was laughing and then he goes on to show me a little demonstration!! He says for real MOM!!

What a silly kid!!

We're back!!

Well last week I got this FREAKY e-mail from some chic named Daphne, sorry Daphne if you know me and I don't know you?? But NO I don't wanna invite to your new web site, but thanks!

Well any how it made me a little nervous so as a quick reaction I hurried and made my blog private. I had said a while back I was going to do this but, I didn't really want to cause I love being able to let friends and family keep up w/ the latest and the greatest news of the Hales family:) I'm a little bit of a freak myself so who knows maybe in a few months I'll go private, but I'll keep you posted, so for now ENJOY! :) :)

A day of 1st for Kobe....

Monday was a pretty big day for my little man. As I posted earlier Kobe just got a new bike and while he was riding it home after school he had his 1st wreck on the railroad tracks. Maddi didn't learn to ride a bike until she was older and I don't recall of her ever getting in to a wreck. So this seemed to be a pretty big deal here @ the Hales house. We got him all washed up, and got a bandage on and off he went to play w/ the neighbor boys.



A while back James had cut his finger @ work so he had brought home this bandage and on the wrapper it said "flex" so being the smart person I am I thought it would be perfect for Kobe's knee cause you have to bend it to walk so I thought it would "flex" as he walked. But I guess Kobe didn't think it did the job so he added a "few" pieces of tape:) LOL! It really wasn't that bad of a cut and probably really didn't need a bandage, but I had to give him a little TLC so he knew I cared. By the end of the night the bandage was long gone.

About a month ago Kobe asked me if I could pay him to do his jobs.... as in taking his laundry down, or unloading the dishwasher. I said well I don't think so! He says well my friends get paid to do their jobs, and I said well I buy your clothes, feed you, and take you to the movies and blah, blah, blah... I went on about all the things we buy & do for him and then I said that is your payment for living here. He is really fascinated w/ Star Wars and wanted me to pay him so he can buy all the Star Wars in the world, cause that would be AWESOME!! So after I explained to him why I wouldn't pay him to do his jobs, I told him he could ask Gp. Rick and Uncle Caleb if he could work for them and earn some money. So we did and they wanted us to pick up the trash @ all the parks. So I took him & Carson a few weeks ago to all the parks, it was an adventure... Carson walked around w/ his hands in his pockets, Kobe wanted to play on all the toys and I think I picked up most of the trash. I had to keep getting after them and by the time we got to the last park Kobe was tired and threw his self on the ground cause he was just to tired! I said son get up, I said I get tired @ my job too but I don't just lay down on the floor @ my work, by this time I was getting a little upset! But we got it all done and Kobe was ready for his MONEY!!! I think he must be his mother's son, cause he does kinda like the green stuff:) Any how then James & I had to explain that you don't just get paid right when the job is done you have to wait for PAYDAY!! Well the 15th was pay day and he could hardly wait. I text my mom James hours and then said that Carson & Kobe both had 2hrs thinking she would just add Kobe's hours to James' check & we'd give him what he earned. Well Monday after school my mom came down to give James his check and she had made Kobe out his very own check!! He was so EXCITED to get his 1st paycheck!

I took him to the bank so he could cash it and then James and I helped him fill out his 1st tithing slip. On Tuesday James took him to Wal-mart so he could spend his hard earned cash......BUT guess what he ended up buying some little bike instead of Star Wars toy:) What a silly boy!! I'm glad to see that there is more to life than Star Wars....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

So I turned 32 on Monday, WOW!! I 'm getting old. But just so you know I still feel like I'm 20 and that's what matters right? Since I had to work on my b-day, my sweet little hubby planned on taking me to Lava on the bike over night, last Friday. But w/ going to Lehi we didn't get back home til way late Friday night so we just stayed here and woke up early Saturday morning and went on a lil bike ride. It was OUTSTANDING!! We went to Viking Leather in Dayton and shopped around for a bit then went up to Downey and then on the old highway to Malad and then we stopped @ The Dude Ranch for lunch, the food was EXCELLENT!! I love riding thru all the little old towns and looking @ all the old farm houses. But most of all I love just being w/ my man:) I had a wonderful birthday weekend as well as a great day on Monday w/ James & the kids.

Our first time...

planting a garden!

Last year I had bought all the seeds to plant a garden but we never got around to it. So this year our little sandbox was way over grown with weeds so James & I thought it would make a perfect garden spot. The kids got all the old toys out and threw them away & James tiled it up. We called Gp. Kennard down to see if he thought the soil looked like it would be to sandy. He thought it looked great, so we started planting. We didn't have a hoe so we called Gm. Lorise to see if she could bring one down. And just so you know when things got started we were informed by Kobe that....that's not how grandma does it! LOL:) The kids have helped gp. & gm. plant their garden every year so I guess they are pros and wanted our garden to be just like gp. & gm.'s.

Maddi & I labeled popsicle sticks so we would know what each row was. I'm kind of excited to see how or if it even grows. If all goes well I'll be posting pictures of our growing garden, cause I'll be so proud of us! We are kinda gettin a little domestic in our old age:)

*Just a little side note for myself:)

I guess I must be pretty lame I grew up in a pretty big family and my parents always planted a garden and we always had animals. But I guess I just never got involved, you'd think I was a real "city slicker". I don't seem to know much about anything. When the kids got their rabbits last summer I thought what a piece of cake! Buy a cage & keep them locked up, take them to the fair...no big deal! Well I never thought of taking them out & playing with them, feeding them, and worst of all what about their poop! But everything worked out well as far as the rabbits, Maddi is going to show hers @ the fair again this year. But Kobe's is for sale cause he wants to buy Star Wars action figures w/ the money he makes and he hates feeding them:( And now a garden?? I didn't know the first thing about planting a garden...but we got it done. I hope my kids pay a little more attention to life than I did, so when they are in their 30's and planting a garden they won't have to call James & I to see how to do it!

One more thing this post should of been before the last post, but I guess I got a little side tracked. We worked in our yard and planted the garden last Thursday:) Not that any of you care, but this is my lil journal.

Congrats....

Connor, Sunni and Clancy Dan were sealed in the Draper Temple last Friday on their 1 year anniversary. Afterwards Sunni's parents & ours had a little luncheon @ The Lodge @ Clementine Farms (Sunni's parents ranch) in Lehi.

I love Clancy's lil smile so I was trying to get a few good pictures of him, but I could never get the "perfect" smile. But he's pretty cute no matter what!! Baby Em isn't as smiley as lil CD but her and Mags thought they'd like to get in the picture too.

I love all my little nieces & nephews they are all just so stinkin cute! Sometimes I wish I would of had another baby, cause I love seeing James & my kids w/ the babies. They just love them to pieces. :)

Well I have just notice that I haven't blogged for almost 3wks. That is a little out of the norm. for me!! But May seems to be flying by.... I have been doing the b-day table for PTA @ the kids' school and did the last one last Friday HOORAY!! It was a lot more work than I thought it was going to be and when I said I would do it I was on the furlough so I thought no big deal! It really wasn't too bad, and I enjoyed going to the school and being able to see my kiddies:)

I haven't been to picture happy on any of our events/outings this month. So I'll just give you a little run down of what we've been up to, nothing to great so don't get to excited!! :)

On April 31st James and I took the kids to the high school play.......GREASE!! Which was EXCELLENT! If any of you know me, know I LOVE GREASE!! It's my all time favorite movie, and I think they did a wonderful job!! I must say that the auditorium is in GREAT need of a new sound system. Any how... then the next night we made "homemade" cheese fries like they have @ Texas Roadhouse where everything is "homemade" (sorry inside joke). and they were EXCELLENT as well:) Then we popped popcorn and added a few Junior Mints another one of my favs. :) and watched GREASE!! Kobe kept asking during the play if it was a real movie so we had to watch the REAL DEAL!! and of course I fell asleep... SURPRISE! SURPRISE! huh honey? :) So that was a fun little weekend we had here @ home chillin w/ our lil family.

Then Kobe has been in need of a new bike so we got him not only a bike..... but a "REAL BMX BIKE" It is so COOL!! Well to me it's just a bike, but to Kobe it's AWESOME!! and he even has "SUPER SPEED" which means he can go super fast! lol:) So when it's not been raining we have been going on bike rides as a family which has been fun! Maddi and Kobe both went to "Bike Safety" yesterday @ the school and they learned all the signals and safety tips for riding their bikes:)

Then last Sunday we had a little Mother's Day cookout w/ my family, which my dad cooked up some good ole hamburgers that really hit the SPOT!! The kids both made me cute little cards and gifts that I love! My little Maddi made me the CUTEST pin, that I wore on Sunday... I'll have to get a picture of it, I was super impressed!! I had a wonderful Mother's Day and hope you did too.

Maddi is getting so grown up and I love her being my little shadow. We have broken out the "paint nail" and have been painting our toes and getting more than ready for SUMMER! She and I have went to a few accessory parties and have gotten some good deals. It has been fun having her go with me, and I love that she is getting to the age where we can share things:) We've got her all signed up for 4H and she is super excited she loves being involved. She is going to do her rabbit again this year. And my mom is going to have all the girl cousins do a cooking 4H club w/ her so she is excited for that too.

Last weekend James & I both had to work so Maddi had a sleep over w/ Aunt Jacks and all the girl cousins and Kobe went to his favorite place on earth Aunt B's :) They have also been spending time w/ gp. & gm. Hales and helping them in their yard.

James has put his sled away for the summer :( :( super sad face.... But has broken out the bike and we have been able to go on a few little rides but it's still a bit cold or me. He has been busy helping my dad & brothers w/ mowing and spraying which he enjoys. And we are getting ready to break out the camper!!

I have been busy getting things ready for my little mans baptism, which will be here before you know it. I can't believe my kids are growing up so fast!! My work has been slow so I haven't been getting all my hours, which has given me more days here @ home as a MOM which I LOVE more than EVER!!

So that's pretty much a run down of whats going on here @ the Hales house. Sorry if it seems like I'm rambling but this is kind of like a journal for me so if you don't like what you read then don't read it!!

One more thing I hope like HELL it warms up SOON!! and I can't wait to go camping and read my magazines :) So I hope all our peeps are feeling the same... good times are coming our way!!
