SuMmER VaCaTiON May 31- June 10, 2012

KINGMAN..... HERE WE COME!!

After Vegas we headed to Kingman for a few days... It was AWESOME!! & the kids loved it!! We stayed with the Belew's & just kept it low key... Kalli Ann did a great job of showing us around.

After it was all said & done, both of the kids didn't think moving sounded like such a bad idea!! :)

We also stopped @ Hoover Dam which was pretty cool. We had a great time with all of our AZ peeps!! :)

Vegas.... BABY!!

 We stayed @ The Golden Nugget & loved it!!
We took the kids to M & M, Coke & Fremont Street... Good times!! :)

We also went to Pawn Stars which was pretty AWESOME!! :)

Disneyland....

One of the nights we walked home from d-land I saw this flower... Thought it was cool so I had to take a pic :)

We also went to Newport Beach & played in the water & it was AWESOME!! We all loved jumping the waves... SO FUN!!

Jenni had told Kobe about sand crabs so we went & bought a lil sand set so he could dig for them. He thought it was pretty cool!! So did we...

These next 2 pics are @ Laguna Beach, it was so pretty! We saw a lot of dolphins jumping....

Our last night @ d-land we stayed til midnight!! We had so much fun!! Kobe's favorite ride was Space Mountain & mine was Indiana Jones.... I LOVED it!! I told my kids that d-land was 3 or 4 days of pure hell w/ a lil bit of fun!! :) LoL So very true!! It was fun but it was HOT & the lines were super long!! We had a great time & look forward to the next time....

Maddi's favorite ride was Autopia :) She loved it!!

One of my favorite parts of Disneyland is the parade!! My kids weren't to hip when I told them we needed to watch the parade, but after we did they both loved it!!

We didn't go to Lego Land so the Lego store in down town Disney was a MUST!! Kobe thought it was so AWESOME!!!

Day 3.... Disneyland!!!

Saturday was our 1st day @ Disneyland!!! Maddi danced pretty early so we were up & at the park by 8:30ish.... Pretty dang early for this mom!! :)

Day 1 & 2 May 31st to June 1st

We left on Thursday right after school got out!! We headed to St. George & drove around & showed the kids the temple & where Gp. & Gm. Hales use to stay when they would go down in the winter.

Friday morning we woke up BRIGHT & EARLY and got on the rode.... California here we come!!!

We stopped @ Aliens Fresh Jerky & got Kobe some jerky, they both had remembered stopping here when we went on our cruise a few years back....

Then we headed to Huntington Beach, it was a lil cold but we just wanted to show the kids & then after that we headed to our hotel. :) :)

That night we ate @ Joe's Crab Shack & the kids were in Heaven!! They both love seafood!! This was their 1st time eating fresh crab legs so James is schooling them on how to eat em :)

This year we celebrated Kobe's birthday on the 30th cause on the 31st we were leaving for our summer/family vacation to Disneyland!! Kobe turned 10 this year, I can't believe how fast the last 10 years have gone by. He is growing so fast!! Makes me kinda sad :( He got a few Lego's & a cell phone for his bday & he loved it all!!!

 He didn't want to have cake & ice cream, he wanted strawberry smoothies, which I loved!! & so did he, so I tried to make it as "Happy Birthday" has much as I could & bought cups that said happy birthday on them & put a candle in the middle of his for him to blow out!! :) LOL

Memorial Day....

On Memorial weekend we took the kids to see all the graves & took them on a lil road trip. I thought it would be fun to show them their grandparents & great-grandparents houses. Then I thought we'd show them where James & I lived when we first got married....

This lil yellow house was our 1st house out on "Scott's Lane" in Fielding we rented it from Ricky & Shirley Scott. It was super cute. We didn't stay here long cause Shirley's grandma got sick & had to move in so she asked if we would mind moving....

So then we moved in to the "Mexican Shack" this was also in Fielding & was pretty ok inside but looked like hell on the outside! :) LOL Then after about a year of renting we moved in with James' parents while we built our house.

That's just a lil history my kids will enjoy in the future:)

Cleaning.....

On May 21st my mom, me, James & Jacki spent the day with Ann cleaning out all of my grandpa's things out of his shed. Us girls had already spent a full day cleaning out all of his clothes, but needed a "man" to help with the shed. These are just a few things I found interesting & that I wanted to remember about my grandpa.

Power Charge was something my grandpa had help invent with a few of his friends, it had something to do with battery powered cars. If you look closely you can see my grandpa hand wrote his info on the business card. I thought that was cute. :) If you knew my grandpa you'd think so too.... 

 Here is James in the loft of the shed thinking WHAT THE HECK!! My grandpa was a super clean freak!! But I admit he kept some crazy things!! Paper work from years & years ago & then food from 1978 in the picture below.... Yep even us clean folk keep a few odd things... My mom was dying to think why on earth!! :) LOL I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!!!

We got it all done & either thrown away or moved to a new place. It was lots of hard work!! & a special thanks to Ann for a great meal & for taking such good care of our grandpa!

Mother's Day 5/13/2012

On Mother's Day my dad planned a dinner for all of us. He called all the boys & had them help bring salads & stuff for the meal & the boys took care of everything. When we first got to my parents my dad had got some crowns from Burger King & made a label that said "Queen for the Day" that he put over the BK :) Then he had us girls all wear the crown & gave us all a rose... Such a cute idea & even better cause a "man/guy" had thought of it. I thought it was a pretty cute idea... Good job dad!! & thanks for a great Mother's Day! :)

This post is just for me...

On April 20th my grandpa passed away...
This was a super hard day for me. I had a really good relationship with my grandpa & love him dearly. We had moved him to my moms towards the end cause he was needing more one on one & it was getting to hard on my mom & Ann. James & I & the kids had stayed @ my moms the night of the 18th to give Jacki & my mom a break. I am so grateful I was able to go & help & grateful that James was willing to care for my grandpa.  I'm grateful that he is able to be with my grandma & Aunt Ilene & that he isn't in pain but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him... I love you Grandpa!

Maddi Jane....

Here is a picture of my dancing diva with her BFF Shay :) Maddi was busy with dancing competitions thru April & May & finished up with the dance revue. She LOVES LOVES to dance!! It's not my favorite, but I love that she enjoys it so much & she's a good lil dancer!!

Kobe Man...

Here's a few things Kobe has been doing... He worked hard in Scouts & earned his Bear (April 19th). I was worried he wasn't gonna get it cause we had moved, but he finished with plenty of time to spare!! Good Job Son!!

Then this year his 4th grade program was on Utah & they did a great job!! (April 13th)
