aChIeVeMeNt & ReCoGnItIoN aWaRdS

Yesterday I got to go to the school to 2 awards assembly's. The 1st one was @ 9:30 a.m. and my sweet little Maddi got a recognition award, each teacher was to pick a few students who helped make a difference in the classroom as well as around the school. Maddi was recognized for her great sense of humor, and for being easy going and treating everyone with respect.

It's was like one of those proud parenting moments for me:) Ya know when you set and drill your kids day after day to make sure they say please and thank-you, and that we are all the same despite our differences and to treat everyone the same. Then hope and pray that they follow trough and that others will treat them the same, well I guess all my nagging is paying off. Maddi has such a sweet little spirit and brings so much peace and joy into our family, she truly is a great example. I am very proud of her for achieving this award and I hope that she will continue to be an example to others. I know that it was hard being a kid when I was growing up, but I think that kids these days face and will face harder times and challenges than we can ever imagine.

Then back to the school @ 2:00 for my little Kobe James' award. Kobe got an achievement award, again each teacher picked a few students who have improved in different areas or all around. So Kobe got an award for doing a GREAT job in reading, he has moved up 7 steps this year and has really came a long ways:) I think over all Kobe is a pretty smart kid, but he just needs to slow down and take his time. He is such a BOY and so full of energy and has a hard time sitting still, I wonder where he gets that from:) LOL I am very proud of Kobe and I want him to know that if he puts his mind to it he can do anything! I hope that he too will continue to improve and be the BEST he can be.

So then I just have to add a few notes for myself. I was so happy and proud of my kids, I sat at the back of the gym with tears in my eyes. NOT only because I was proud of them, but for the pure fact that I was home and able to go and give them my support. I haven't really got to be apart of lets say.... schooling events do to work, not that I want to be the PTA president or anything. But I have missed a few things and I loved being there and I could tell that it made both of their days to see me as they went back to class.

My cousin Brittani came up this past weekend and we had a little photo shot. We went up to Fielding and took them @ my Grandpa Udy's old farm. I think she did and amazing job, I absolutely love them!! So I just thought I'd share a few of my favs:) eNjOy!!

Well my 6th file didn't have 6 pictures in it, it only had 3 so I picked the best of the 3:) This picture is @ the Jackson Hole Hill Climbs on 3/24/2007 it was a real interesting trip. One of the days while the men were out riding & enjoying the hill climbs Jerian & I shopped down town Jackson. We had a blast! We even walked to K-mart cause we thought it was just around the corner. Well needless to say I think it turned out to be about 5 or 6 miles away and we could have taken the bus:) but don't worry we got smart and took the bus back. LOL And the walk was well worth it!! We got the BEST deals $50 robes for 3 BUCKS and I got a few skirts for me & Maddi for like a BUCK each:) gOoD tImES!!! Then that brings me to another interesting thing that happened...... The day we were coming home we got everything loaded & were headed to eat and my oh so lovely husband has remote key-less but for some CrAzY reason uses the button inside to lock it as he gets out......SO you guessed it he looked the keys in the truck sitting on the seat:) I mean REAL gOoD tImEs!!! So we called a locksmith and 65 BUCKS later we were able to get back in:) I was so pissed, I mean so pissed! (sorry for the language) Cause while we were waiting for the locksmith I realized I had left a crack in my window, but it was to late the locksmith had just pulled up:( So to make a long story short it ended up being my fault cause I should have said earlier that I had a crack in my window:) OMH I guess I must have looked like I was going to kill someone cause even the locksmith made a comment to James about how mad I looked:) LOL But we did enjoy the most wonderful hamburgers EVER! and then once we arrived to our lovely home I realized I had left a pair of my favorite jeans hanging on the back of the door @ the hotel:( OH... what a lovely trip that I will never forget!

So any how this pic. is the one day we all went and enjoyed the hill climbs:)

P.S. Don't worry James didn't learn any lessons from that little incident, he still locks the truck from inside and has looked the keys in twice since this little trip:) MEN...... just remember it was my fault though:) LOL I sure do luv you honey!

hApPy BiRtHdAy DaD!!

Today is my dad's birthday, and I just wanted to let him know how much I love him. When I was younger there were a lot of times we didn't see eye to eye, but the older I get I realize he was just watching out for me. My dad is a wonderful example of hard work and dedication. He has always worked and done several small jobs on the side to see that our families needs were met. He his a wonderful cook (as many of you know) and is very very smart. I remember growing up & spending our summers in Idaho, I was always amazed at how my dad knew so much. He knew every little dirt road you could find and always took us to a lot of fun places:) Still to this day my dad helps all 7 of us in seeing that our families have what we need, and supporting us in what we do. I loving watching my dad with all the little grand kids he has a special love for each of them, they all love grandpa Rick and look forward to helping him and uncle Connor around the yard:)

Valentine's

Well Valentine's has come & gone, over all I think we had a good day spending it with the people we love:) Here's a little run down on our events. The kids both enjoyed sleep overs & a Valentine's party as I posted earlier. And this year James & I had agreed earlier in the month to just by each other a card cause we have a few things coming up that we would rather use our money on. But last week I thought I was going to surprise James w/ something that was on his wish list. I have never done anything like this before and I was full anxiety, I usually give gifts early cause I can't wait but I made it the whole week:) I was so proud of myself & James was in totally shock he had no idea!!

It was James' weekend to work so after he got home he was up getting ready to got out and I walked up wearing the coat. He was just looking at me with this crazy look on his face and I said just say THANK YOU! so he did and he said he felt bad, but I told him it was okay I was happy that he liked it. Now he has a matching coat to go with his sled and will look HOT as ever!

Then after all that the kids went over to hang with the Merritt kids so us parents could go enjoy the best meal ever @ Maddox:) My poor kids had to eat pizza again! but the survived.

BOY PARTY

Last night aunt Kati was having an all girl cousin party, so I felt like the boys needed one too. Aunt Becki usually hosts the boy parties but I thought we needed a turn. Another reason I decided to host the boy party is because Kobe always says Maddi has the "sweet life" cause she gets to do alot more than him. So I thought I would let him enjoy the "sweet life":) LOL Branson & Bailey are kinda getting a little old so we just had the small boys. We had pizza and they played the wii, and built huts and made homemade energy drinks:) (they all got a water bottle and put a bunch of candy in them & shook them up) Lance says they look gross, Carson says there energy drinks they are suppose to:) I must say at times I was going a little NUTTS! But as long has they were having fun:)

VALENTINE'S PARTY

Aunt Kesia is always so good to put together little parties for all the cousins on all smaller holiday's. So last night we all went up to their house and had the kids exchange Valentine's & then Kesia had made sugar cookies and had a bunch of snacks for all of us. Then her & Uncle Newlin had all the kids play bingo and pin the nose on the dog, Kesia always goes all out and has her house all decorated and she gave all the kids a prize when they got bingo. I just love all my nieces & nephews & they all have so much fun together.

Love One Another

Maddi and Kami (my niece) have been struggling w/ a few girls @ school. I have been talking w/ Maddi quite a bit about doing unto others as we would have them do unto us. So last night I gave a lesson on loving one another for FHE in hopes that I would be able to teach Maddi & Kobe that Jesus Christ has taught us how to forgive and love one another. And I know that it is not always easy to just walk away and that Satan is always working on us. But if we strive to be more like Christ that we will be blessed for doing so, and also that the best place to learn to love one another is in our very own home. This was a great lesson for me as well, because I know that there are alot of times that I am quick to judge and speak before I think. And I hope that I will be able to be a better example to my kids and those around me as I try to be more like Christ.


Then I thought it would be fun to frost a few cookies. After we were done we took them around to my visiting teaching ladies and then also to gp. & gm. Hales. And YES James is having the time of his life:) But for some reason he just hasn't got posing for the camera down, so his eyes are closed:) LOL But we love him anyway!!

1. I love being a mother, and being here for my kids as they learn & grow:)
2. I love my hubby, he is my rock and my very best friend! I still think he is the sexiest man ever, even after 13yrs. of marriage:)

Maddi's NEW do!

Last night Maddi went to an achievement day activity, at a ladies house in our ward who does hair. And when she came home she was all smiles, she got a new do and she loves it! The first thing she asked was if she had to wash her hair when she got in the bath. I said no, she said oh good cause I want my hair to be like this for tomorrow. She is such a little cutie I love her so much she is growing up way to fast. In away I like it cause I feel like the older she is getting the closer we are getting:) After she got in the bath she was laying by me and we were watching a show and she staring telling me all about how Alison did her hair, I looked over and I noticed she had a bobby pin in and I said did she put that bobby pin in? She said no I did I wanted to add my own personal touch:) LOL What a little cutie!

So this morning I touched up her hair and off she went looking like a little diva:)

Thanks Alison, you made Maddi's day! I'm not the best hair dresser so she looks forward to having other people fix her hair:) We both love the new do!

I LOVE YOU SISTER!

I LUV THIS LIFE!!

Well I have been off work for a week now, and can I just tell you I am so loving my life right now:) I think James is getting a little concerned cause I haven't been all that interested in our house and getting things done. I told him Saturday that I would get the house cleaned and the laundry done. Well I had a better offer so I put it off for one more day, then I told him I would for sure do it Sunday after church cause our friends would be coming. WELL Kody and Hayden showed up a little early so I just stuffed all the laundry back in the baskets and put them in the laundry room. So then that brings us to Monday and still a HUGE stack of laundry and a dirty house. But James went snowmobiling so I thought I needed one more day off:) LOL I told James I promised I would get it done and I didn't want him to do it, he said do remember when you said if you stayed home we would always have a clean house and you'd cook and do all the laundry? He's like what happened to that?? I said well I've been busy, he says busy doing WHAT? I said seeing what life's about when you stay home all day! Now it's Tuesday and I've finally got my laundry done thanks to the BEST helper ever:) But as for my house I will work on it a little each day, I've got six months off! And I'm loving every minute of it!!

Valentine's

As you all know I have a little anxiety and I had ordered these way cute Valentine's from Current and I was dying to put them together. So last night for FHE we fixed up all our Valentine's, I think they turned out so cute! Maddi is always such a good little helper and Kobe is a little like me and has several things on his mind so he was kinda in a rush:)

So every year we get together w/ the Merritt's and watch the "BIG" game. I'm not much for football, but I love my "family" and the food is always great too:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATI

This year Jacki thought it would be fun for us girls to get together for our birthdays and do lunch. We'll see if we make it the whole year:) Kati's birthday was Friday, but we waited til Saturday to go celebrate her "big" day. She picked Olive Garden, I know many of you love the Olive Garden just as all my sistas do but it's NOT my fav. But I still went along cause I couldn't pass up the great company and shopping:)
