The BEST Caramel Browies......

You will EVER eat!!

Last summer Amy B. brought these to one of our lil cookouts and I must say I fell in LOVE!! They are to die for and ever since then I have made these about once a month:) They are so NOT on my lil diet plan, but they are EXCELLENT!! She found the recipe on the Sisters Cafe blog, so if you are wanting a lil treat you should try these you won't be disappointed. (recipe below) and Darcie these are the brownies I keep telling you about, super easy & I know you will LOVE them:)

Maddi was having a sleep over @ Kami's so "P Dawg" (a.k.a Kobe) & I were gettin CrAzY in the kitchen and cookin up some good ole brownies:) He was very interested in helping, so being the "evil" mother I am I let him:) LOL!

Just a few side notes in case I lost you:).... Aunt B gave Kobe that name, I always call him P cause he is my lil Pee Wee meaning my little son:) Pretty lame I know.... but for some reason me & my brothers & sisters have to have a nickname for everyone:)

And then about being an "evil" mother...well all the Primary sisters in my ward know where this came from:) But I thought while I was blogging about my sweet little son I should include this lil episode that happened @ church today, mostly for my own good cause I'm still in SHOCK!! So a few ladies & men in my ward were talking while waiting for our kids to get out of Primary and we were saying how you always end up having a child just like you! And I find this to be VERY true my sweet little Maddi has a heart of gold but loves being the "mother" to her younger brother which tends to lead to a few arguments. And I always get after her, but there are several times I stop myself cause I stop and think OH she is so ME!! and I was saying this to these people and one of the ladies in the Primary Presidency said it was so funny today Kobe made a comment about you, (but she couldn't remember what it was) and Maddi gave him a look that reminded her of me:) and so I thought I better be sure to ask my darling son what he said, but before I got the chance the Primary Chorister says to me you should ask Kobe what he said about you today.... I'm like WHAT? I already heard but they couldn't remember what exactly he said and she says well I was asking them what was something nice your mother does for you and Kobe's answer was my mom is EVIL!! OMH I am totally embarrassed, but I too have been in Primary and have heard the wonderful things our little children say:) so I'm not taking it to heart..... But just to clarify I don't consider myself an "evil" mother but I do get a little upset that EVERY Sunday James has to work my kids always end up fighting. Which was the case this morning therefore they both ended up in their rooms, I don't consider that evil do you? I could of beat them both to death and then maybe I'd qualify! So Kobe was already out to the car so as I hop in the car I said so Kobe what did you say about your mom today???? I said why did you say I am evil?? He says cause you are, you are mean!!

Well I'm thinking to myself aren't all parents mean and some point??

The joys of being a mother!! I sure do LOVE both my sweet little kids, and hope they have the treat of having a child just like them:)


Well back to my original reason for this post...... the BROWNIES:) enjoy!

1 box German chocolate cake mix

1/3 c evaporated milk

1/2 c butter,melted

14 oz package of Kraft caramels (50)

1/3 c evaporated milk

1 cup milk chocolate chips (Guittard or other large chips)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together dry cake mix, butter, and evaporated milk. Press half of this mixture into bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 6 minutes.

2.Melt caramels with 1/3 c evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Set aside. (I just melt this together in the microwave)

3.Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust. Drizzle caramel over chocolate chips. Spoon or sprinkle the other half of the cake mixture on top. Bake for 16-18 minutes. Refrigerate approximately 30 minutes to set. Cut and serve.

Here's a picture of my 2 cute kids all dressed up in their new Easter clothes. They are both growing up way too fast! It was a little windy and we were running a bit behind so I didn't have time to get the "perfect" photo, but this was the best out of three:)

McKinley School Play......

When The Hippos Crashed The Dance!

Maddi loves being involved and has been in the school play for the last 3 years. She was pretty upset @ first cause she really wanted to be a PINK Flamingo, but ended up as a Rooster. Pink is her favorite color so she was dead set on the Flamingo and she wanted to quit cause she had to be a "stupid Rooster" :( tears and all!

James & I talked it over w/ her and I'm glad she stuck it out, cause she did an EXCELLENT job! She was the BEST lil dancer and singer:) I think the part Maddi liked BEST was being able to wear make-up, and she looked BEAUTIFUL!

I was @ the R.S. birthday party awhile back and a few of the ladies were talking about how they were making their kids' costumes w/ NO pattern!

I was like WTH? I can't even sew a button on, let alone make overalls w/ NO pattern... I said I just turned mine over to grandma:) So a VERY BIG THANK YOU to grandma Lorise for helping us in this department:)

Same...Same....Same...

Someone looks different! (that's to the tune of an Arby's commercial) LOL! Any how James has to wear a beard net over his goatee @ work and he was kind of getting sick of it. So he thought he'd try something new.... Pretty interesting if you ask me:) But it only lasted a week and now he's back to NORMAL!! My kids thought it was pretty funny, I don't think they had ever saw him w/ out his goatee. He's pretty HOT no matter what but he looks MUCH better w/ it:)

CrAzY.....

UTAH WEATHER!

So last Tuesday when I got off work, I walked out to SNOW on top of my car. WTH? I thought it was SPRING! I have been dying for it to get warm but it seems that winter keeps popping back up. I took this picture out my back door after I dropped my kids off @ school. I hope it warms up SOON!! James on the other hand has been able to get in a few more riding days so he is LOVIN it:)

Exciting News @ the Hales house.....

Tony Hawk came to visit!! Okay not really but the next best thing:) Kobe was in need of some new shoes. So last Friday James & I were doin a little Easter shopping & being the bargain shopper I am I found him some Tony Hawk shoes for $16.00 regularly $34.00 what a freakin DEAL!! So after we got home James & I had him try them on & he was in HEAVEN!!

Then as we were heading to Fielding last Saturday he says mom do you think you can call the Easter Bunny, cause I want a skate board like Tony Hawk that would be AWESOME!! Dang good thing the Easter Bunny knows his stuff, cause my lil Tony got a skate board for Easter:)

So Sunday after listening to conference he went out to show us his stuff. He was a little nervous so his daddy gave him a few pointers. I didn't have my camera ready when James was on the board but I think he thought he was pretty bad ass! (sorry for the language) James was a big ole skate boarder back in his younger days, but he said the skate board was a lot smaller so he wasn't too sure about it. But I have to confess I'm thinkin HELLO you are now 36 or maybe he's 37 I'm not sure but he's not no teenage punk so of course it's going to feel smaller:) And he thinks I'm a little blonde.... MEN!!

Any how our lil Tony thinks his new skate board is totally AWESOME!! and he has no FEAR and is doin a pretty good job. He called Bubba to tell him and asked him to come over some time to give him a few pointers.... Cause Bubba is good!! He even has a ramp:)

Easter

On Easter Saturday Grandma Kent always has us over for a wienie roast & egg hunt. This year we woke up to snow!! So instead of having it @ her house we went to the Fielding Fire Station so we could stay warm.... It was nice to have a little extra room, but the egg hunt indoors wasn't as good as outside.

Grandma always has a 6 pack of eggs for everyone to color and she always makes cupcakes to frost w/ green coconut for the grass and a few jelly beans on top for eggs. It's a fun little family tradition. She always goes the extra mile to make it fun!!

Before we go to Grandmas we have always taken the kids to the egg hunt @ the Fielding School, so they can be with their "cousin friends". This year it was James' weekend to work so I was on my own. But Becki had nvited me to do Bountiful Baskets and that was going on @ the school @ the same time. So I drove the kids around & showed them where to go and sent them on their way... After it was all done I kept thinking how awful I was to send them by themselves, I didn't even get a picture. But I must say if you haven't tried Bountiful Baskets you should!! It is super cheap and I'm in love already! Thanks Aunt B. :)
