Oh My...

a TURTLE!!

Well last night Kobe had a sleep over and wanted to go to the pool for his birthday. So we woke up thinking we'd head to the pool but it was a bit too cloudy so we opted out and headed to Sherk Forever After in 3D. I must say this was my 1st 3D movie, that's pretty sad I am 32 and never saw a 3D movie. It was good but a little different, I think I like the 1st one the BEST!! The kids thought it was great so that's what counts:)

Any how after we got home Jenni was bringing the girls home and almost hit a turtle! A turtle in the middle of the road in Tremonton, Utah... now that sounds CRAZY!! The kids all thought it was AWESOME!! We had no clue who it belonged to, but Easton knocked on a few doors and found out where it lived. It turns out it's our neighbors, her grandparents had given it to her brother when he was younger and her brother was moving and couldn't take the turtle so it is staying w/ her and she had left her fence open and he got out. I took the girls over to her house and I brought my trusty ole camera thinking that I was going to see a turtle the size of Texas!! LOL:) Well it wasn't all that big, I guess if you know me you know I kind of think out of the box on a regular basis.... so I was a little disappointed, but the kids were super impressed!! Well OK so was I, it was pretty cool:)

A Special Day....

Last Saturday Kobe was baptized, we are so proud of him and his choice on becoming a member
of the church. He is getting to be such a big boy!! He got to share this special day w/ HadLee she was baptized by Uncle Connor. It worked out PERFECT!! We are in the same Stake so it made it nice for family and especially nice for Kati & I to be able to have the dinner together.

Aunt Jacki helped us make this cute invite, she's pretty good w/ technology.... (unlike myself)

What a wonderful day!! Kobe really wanted his Gp. Kennard to baptize him but being the only boy and our last to get baptized we thought his daddy should baptize him, and then he had Gp. confirm him. He is so grown up and I love all his energy!! As I have posted many times he is pretty silly and comes up w/ some pretty crazy things.

So here is a little story I'd like to share about Kobe and baptism.... So if you know me you know that I like my boys to have short hair cuts. Well Kobe had grown his hair out a last summer and he loved it!! Well @ the first of the year I got sick of him fussing when I would squirt his hair down in the morning so I got his hair cut. He didn't "love" it, so I told him he could grow it til it was time for him to get baptized and then he'd need to get it cut so he'd look handsome like his daddy:)

Well about a month ago James was working and as the kids and I were coming home from church I told Kobe that it was almost time for a haircut. And he says mom I don't want a haircut NOT even when I get baptized and I said well you are going to get one!! He's like well Jesus didn't.... I was a little lost, so I'm like Jesus didn't what? He says... HELLO!! did you not go to church when you were young and learn and listen... I was like, what? I didn't really know where he was going w/ this, so I said yes I went to church. And he says well Jesus had long hair when he got baptized!! I was laughing so hard, I said your right he did! But that was in the olden days and now Jesus wants you to have a short haircut like a missionary so you look more respectful. I know that Jesus doesn't care if we have long or short hair but I thought that sounded good.... But as you can see I let Kobe decide, so long hair it was!!

So I'm a little behind on my blogging...... On Thursday June 3rd, James & I went to the school for an awards assembly. Kobe got a Cougar Scholar Award for improving on his reading skills. He was all SMILES!! Then they also announced the Student Council for next year and little Miss Maddi made it!! As they read the names I leaned over to James and said they already called some kids out of her class so I don't think she made it.....But I guess they just read the names randomly cause they called her name later on. After she got home she told me she thought she wasn't going to get it and I said me either:) and then she told me the same thing I had told her daddy... I'm sure proud of her, she is a sweet girl and will do a GREAT job!!

On the last day of school they got to find out who their teachers are for next year and Maddi got Mr. Esplin which we were hoping for:) :) and Kobe got Mrs. Bitton (sp?) a.k.a Mrs. Ross.

We are EXCITED to have a FUN relaxing SUMMER!! I'm so proud of my 2 cute kids, but they are growing way to FAST!!

Kobe's Birthday here @ home....

After we all got home Monday we celebrated Kobe's birthday!! He chose spaghetti, and cake but not just cake it had to be chocolate:) I'm NO Betty Crocker so James and I made cupcakes late Sunday night and frosted them & I tried to set them out on the cupboard in the shape of a number 8, pretty lame but it did the job:)

Kobe was so EXCITED to open his presents!! He still has dinner all over his face so I hope you don't mind:)

He is so stinkin cute, as I am blogging this I can't help but SMILE when I look @ all the pictures. James was running the camera so he took a "few" pictures, so I picked the ones I thought were the BEST!! I love this kid, he makes us laugh so hard!

Kobe says....Mom, Maddi had a week long of celebrating so can't I? YES son you can!! :) birthday party w/ a few friends, coming SOON!!

Pretty sad I can't get it all done in a few days, but as long as it gets done, right?

Monday's Bike Ride

The Malt-O-Meal, MOM Cares Foundation had a ride on Monday so we invited a few friends and Chuck and Kati to join us. It was not the warmest, but I think we still had a good time. We meet @ M.O.M and then headed to Bear Lake, stopped there for lunch and then over through Weston Canyon. This was the first "big" ride James and I had been on so I was a little nervous, cause there is always a few crazy drivers. But we made it home safe!

Indian Springs

and Kobe's birthday celebration w/ the Hales family. Last weekend James' family was camping @ Indian Springs in American Falls Idaho. I had to work Friday night and the kids both had field trips and then they had ball practice Saturday morning, so we took them up Saturday morning to stay w/ gp. & gm. James & I went on a bike ride Monday so we opted out on this camping trip. So any how it was FREEZING cold!! So we had to cook our hamburgers inside the trailer and then Uncle Tom & Brad along w/ James were TOUGH!! and went out and made peach and chocolate/cherry cobblers. Since we were "camping" Kobe chose cobbler instead of cake and I think that was a pretty good choice, they tasted EXCELLENT!! I forgot candles:( and the dutch ovens were HOT so we sang after it was scooped up in our bowls...

And Kobe opened his gifts from gp. and gm. VERY 1st, I mean right when we walked in the door:) I wasn't ready w/ my camera so no pictures.

After we ate lunch we headed to the stream and ponds to feed the fish, Kobe thought it was AWESOME!! and I thought it was FREEZING!!

After dessert James and I headed home, we took the long route and went out through Holbrook and Snowville it was a fun drive:) Maddi & Kobe had an AWESOME weekend w/ Grammy and Grandpa. They made homemade popsicles and swam and swam:)
